Capturing the Majesty of Roaring Fork Valley: A Drone Pilot’s Perspective

Featured Video

Hey everyone, it’s Brandon Damon here, and I’m excited to share some fresh drone footage from my recent adventure in the stunning Roaring Fork Valley, Colorado. If you’re not familiar with the area, it’s a breathtaking region that includes Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale, El Jebel, Glenwood Springs, and Snowmass Village. I even had the chance to capture some footage of the historic Redstone Inn.

During this trip, which was a mix of family time and work, I also had the opportunity to create a promotional video for DJ Benny a well known wedding DJ in the area. The combination of family hikes and professional filming made for an unforgettable experience.

Flying a drone in the mountainous terrain of the Roaring Fork Valley is a whole different ball game. The higher elevation adds a unique layer of complexity. Before taking off, it’s essential to assess the risks and have a spotter to keep an eye on both the drone and the sky. The mountains are frequented by airplanes, so having someone watch for incoming traffic is crucial for safety.

Battery life is always a concern, so make sure you’re fully charged before launching. Despite the challenges, the experience of capturing these majestic landscapes from above is absolutely worth it. I’m already looking forward to my next flight in the mountains and discovering new angles of these stunning vistas.

Stay tuned for more aerial adventures and behind-the-scenes insights from my travels.
